Pizza Review
I ordered a medium supreme pizza from Salerno's. It was $33, which makes it one of the most expensive pizzas i ever ordered. I also just got out of a concert, and was about to drive back to st louis, and this place was one of the only places open until 11pm that wasn't a big chain place. Unfortunately, it was a bit off of i-55, so with that and the price, I was really hoping for a great pizza. First off, my pickup time was for 10:10, and it wasn't ready until 10:22, despite being one of only two orders in their system. Normally i wouldn't care, but like i said, trying to drive all the way to st louis that night. I also ordered thin crust, and what i got was a normal, if not thicker than normal crust. They had an option for "extra thin". I assume that is a normal thin, and regular is a deep dish. to be fair, this medium was more like a large. It also had a large amount of cheese, and plenty of sauce. Not a deep dish, but close to the amount of toppings for it. Cheese was cooked a perfect golden brown, while crust could have been charred better. The sausage, onions, and green pepper all tasted like good quality. And it was not floppy and cut in squares for easy eating in the car. overall, is it worth the price? Maybe not. But if you're in that sweet spot from 9-11pm when your only options are Salerno's and big chain places in this part of town, they might be your best bet.
