Look at that pie. Makes you want to cry. Great pizza. Crust was very good (though it was burnt a bit on the edges so some of the actual crust bites were a tad inedible— a common side effect from the coal fired oven). Great sauce with a nice amount of tang, and just the right amount of cheese. The pizza was so light, me and the GF crushed the whole thing in like fifteen minutes in the park right down the street from the restaurant and still had the energy to move afterwards. Not all pizzas can make that claim. Must try.

AMAZING. Cheese was ooohh ma so good and potato bacon was life changing! Both pizzas were above 9. Staff was super nice plus I got to meet ray Santiago (head pizzialolo) and Rick consiglio (son of sally), they gave me a free hat, and they let me go back to see the oven! After eating pepes in chestnut hill, I expected New Haven pepes to be similar. I didn’t love it, I believe I rated it 7.8 (crust was not very good at pepes, but Sally’s it was an A+) It was either Sally’s or modern that I was going to visit. Sally’s had a shorter line, and I am glad we came. I have heard modern is more heavy on the cheese, and I like a saucier, less heavy on the cheese pie. This was my jam. I wish they could open where I live. Guess I gotta rely on those frozen pizzas! Also, the interior is classy Italian. There was a Frank Sinatra poster, over looking our table. This was Sinatra’s favorite pizzeria.

We went for our engagement Photoshoot in Connecticut, I was looking for food places around the area and came across David Portnoy video where he gave it a 9.2. I was intrigued and decided to check it out to see if the hype is real. Place was busy for Mondays. We were seated immediately but the pizza came out after at least a 20-25 minute wait which make sense. All great things take time. Pizza was absolutely spectacular! Potato & Rosemary Pizza was mind blowing! Highly recommended. The crust, the sauce, the cheese… everything was balanced and cook to perfection. I was recommended to try the Potato & Rosemary Pizza with bacon after the fact BUT next time I will try it. Tip: DON’T GO THEIR HANGRY because THE WAIT WILL BE WORTH IT!

without a doubt the best pizza i’ve had. had been once before with my brothers and it was great then. went back this time with my roommate and a couple friends who were hardcore pepe’s guys and they absolutely loved it. devoured a large sauce and mozz along with a medium meatball and pepperoni. service was great, pizza was great, makes me never wanna have pizza from anywhere else.

Amazing tang in the sauce. Great char flavor and super thin. Very very good pizza.

I had a tomato and mozzarella pie along with a white pie. Both were 9s. Loved the air bubbles throughout the whole pizza, not just the crust. Great char flavor. Certainly a little floppy, but it’s crispy where it counts. Modern and Sally’s are the exact same tomato and mozzarella pie. The reason why I like Modern a little more is for the white pie. The garlic component at modern is absolutely incredible and the best white pie I’ve ever tasted. It was slightly less flavor at Sally’s, but still incredible.

Overall pretty solid pizza but I had high expectations and they met it except the sauce,- little too sweet and tbh I expected some more flavor out of it, tasted some too sweet and not robust flavor! But crust is unbelievable, very solid pie

Near perfection. This pizza’s best asset I find is the tastiness of the tomato sauce without it being acid. It really helps the ingredients blend. The thin layer of flour under the crust is also great. A wonderful experience

Great pie. Not worth a 3 hour wait, as some people have endured. But, when you get there just as they open, it’s a great pie. Perfect amount of char. Sweet sauce. Classic New Haven pie. Is it much different than Pepe’s? Not at all. Pepe’s is still my all time favorite though. And for that, Sally’s scores slightly lower.

Great pizza, incredible atmosphere. This is the gold standard for what you should look for in a dine-in pizza spot.

This is easily some of the best pizza around. My friend and I took an hour and a half drive here and then waited an hour in line and it was definitely worth it. The crust is crispy, the sauce and cheese were great, and it wasn't oily at all. I definitely highly recommend.

Unbelievably good. Great sauce just the right amount of cheese and a ridiculous crust. Might genuinely be the best pizza I’ve ever had would absolutely recommend and definitely worth the wait

Delicious! Had it before and thought it could use a bit more cheese. This is with extra cheese and it did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly, great ingredients. Highly reccomend!

Long awaited visit and first time trying Sally’s. Initially, my hopes were too high and was surprised when it tasted like a regular pizza. The sauce was delicious and tasted like fresh tomatoes. The crust was perfectly cooked and left a satisfying char on my fingers. The cheese was crisp and not greasey in the slightest. All in all, a great pie. Tasted like an 8.9/10 but our sever gave us an extra pie that was never picked up- So Sally’s gets a 9.1/10.

The char on this pizza and the flavor in the crust is AMAZING! The sauce tastes like rich, fresh tomatoes. Cheese didn’t really have much flavor. We ate this back to back with Frank Pepe’s. They were very close together. Sally’s barely outdid Pepe’s for us.

On the way back from Boston had to stop. This is by far one of the best pizzas ever. I wouldn’t recommend the large get a smaller one. I got a small white which was fantastic. The garlic the cheese crust all of it was all around the best white pie I ever had. The regular was also fantastic thin and crispy. Competitor down the street got nothing on this

Being from Jersey I have eaten a lifetime of quality pizza. Sally’s is the World Series grand slam in the bottom of the 9th of pizzas. Crisp crunch and flavor abounds. This is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Sally’s > Pepe’s, Bar, and modern.
