We went for our engagement Photoshoot in Connecticut, I was looking for food places around the area and came across David Portnoy video where he gave it a 9.2. I was intrigued and decided to check it out to see if the hype is real. Place was busy for Mondays. We were seated immediately but the pizza came out after at least a 20-25 minute wait which make sense. All great things take time. Pizza was absolutely spectacular! Potato & Rosemary Pizza was mind blowing! Highly recommended. The crust, the sauce, the cheese… everything was balanced and cook to perfection. I was recommended to try the Potato & Rosemary Pizza with bacon after the fact BUT next time I will try it. Tip: DON’T GO THEIR HANGRY because THE WAIT WILL BE WORTH IT!

Not a sauce guy but more sauce than cheese worked out. Thin slices were perfect where you can almost finish the entire pizza. Amazing!

I believe my first ever “New Haven style” slice, or what these Connecticut locals call APIZZ. I’m not a fan of an overly saucy slice, which this certainly is. Best parts of the slice is where the cheese is more populous, near the tip and midsection. It’s 100% sauce up by the crust. Speaking of, I loved the burnt and charred crustage - big fan. I know Sally’s is very highly regarded as one of the best spots in the nation. It didn’t change my life but it’s still very good. Throw on some sausage, onions, and hot peps and now we’re really cooking. The white clam pie was fine but that potato pie was excellent.

Went in today after an hour long wait outside, followed by another hour wait to get the pizzas brought to the table. Their classic pizza had a great crust, char, and crunch with no flop. Their sauce was sweet and cheese not too strong. Their white pizza with potato was a mixed bag. The white slice itself was delicious, but the potato slices were undercooked. Overall a great place but not worth waiting more than 30 minutes.

Amazing crust and undercarriage. Inverse flop on some slices which ive never seen before. Our boy Dave overrated this one but still top 3 pie in the country imo

Definitely the best pizza I’ve ever had. I also tried the plain pie with no cheese and would rate that even higher at 9.4.
