It was a good Crispy Pie with good flavor. A little bit above above average and would have again.

Nothing crazy good, just a somewhat above average pie. Not much sauce and pretty greasy. Seemed like a normal cheese pizza came with extra cheese which was ok by me. My buddy insisted I try their Sicilian slice and that was excellent and that’s what I will order again if I ever go back.

Great taste and just a dam good slice. No flop but a little greasy. Worth the hour drive. Been hearing a lot about this pizza. Did not disappoint.

Lotta flop. Pretty greasy. Cheese is pretty damn good. Crust needed more crunch, but overall pretty meh to above average. 7.2

Second most overhyped Sicilian around Terrible sauce. To much cheese . Raw dough that had no flavor

Really great slice.. Maybe I’m just generalist, but between the near perfect plain and the stellar Sicilian slice I’m giving it an 8.1 This is def better than your average.. Oh, and the salads are NOT small, no matter what the staff tells you 😂 Boom! Thats a review!!

Excellent slice. Plain slice is very good, but the Sicilian is out of this world. I usually don’t like Sicilian, but this is different.

Regular slice nothing on it. I added garlic powder, grated parmigiana, red pepper flakes for some later bites. This slice didn’t need it. A legit 8.1

It's impossible to be a pizza lover in lower Westchester without coming here, especially the Sicilian slice. One of the few places I'll gladly drive out of my way to visit again.

Awesome too notch Sicilian pie here!! A bit off the normal path Sals is an old school cash only joint known for the square pie and it doesn’t disapoint. An amazing crisp undercarriage followed by the pillowy goodness this style should have. The sauce could’ve been a touch more plentiful but the bites that had it were amazing!! The cheese really sets this off as it has great flavor and there’s a lot of it!! If your searching for top tier straight up Sicilian this is one of the best! Great people inside workin too in a nice little strip area with a Ralph’s across the street what more could you ask for.

Best pizza I’ve ever had

With almost 60 years in the pizza game, Sal’s has been slinging pies since 1964. While their regular plain pies represent a classic New York style, they’re mostly known for having some of the best Sicilian pizza around. So naturally, I had to evaluate both styles. Starting with the traditional circle pie: the dough is firm, thickish, decent crisp with a cracker-like crunchy undercarriage. The sauce is solid, yet, subdued…sweet with decent tang, but somewhat sparse. The cheese is fairly standard but tasty, of good quality and not too greasy. This is a very prototypical football style New York pie that lacks pizzazz but is very reliable. The standard circle pizza comes in at a very reasonable 7.3, a pie you can set your watch to. The Sicilian pizza is very different in such a good way: thick, doughy, soft, fluffy up top, outstandingly crunchy underneath with exquisitely crispy crust. The dough is excellent in both taste & texture, some of the best you’ll find on a Sicilian pie. The mozzarella cheese is melty & creamy, not too thick, just the perfect amount to coat each slice. Not to be outdone, the sauce is sweet, tangy, and more delicious than the sauce on the regular pies, the only problem is how scantly spread it is on the pizza. Some slices taste like just dough and cheese with a hint of sauce. If they could scoop on a few more ladles of the sauce or maybe provide some on the side, this would rate in the low-to-mid 9s among Sicilian pizza. As it stands, the lack of sauce keeps the Sicilian pie at a very respectable 8.3 with room to improve with extra sauce. Overall, I’d tell the regular pie “I like you as a friend,” but the main attraction is the Sicilian, balancing out to a 7.8 combined score. Make the trek for the Sicilian and see if the sauce is enough for you.
