Sal's Pizza Place

Good undercarriage, like the sauce and cheese.

Last night I visited Sal's Pizza in Huntley. I went with the standard sausage pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was very firm and crunchy, even the center pieces. The crust had a nice flavor to it, kind of reminded me of those hard Italian bread sticks. The cheese was pretty standard with a slight buttery hint. The sausage pieces were fairly large and packed with fennel for a great flavor. I am a sauce guy and this sauce really did it for me. They put on plenty of the sauce which was a thick sauce with a little bit of oregano. The sauce was very sweet and I really liked the flavor of it. I thought that this was a really good pizza. I don't want to sound like a cheap ass, but I felt that their prices were pretty high. It was $25.60 for a 14" sausage pizza. That is a little bit higher than what I usually pay for a 16" pizza. This place has a small bar that probably seats 8 people and nobody was sitting at the bar. It was a Friday night and there were only 2 other people in the dining room. I am guessing that it has something to do with their prices because all of the food that I ordered was really good.

The taste was great. My score would have been higher if not for the flop.

Pizza ok you don’t taste anything sauce bland. Mushrooms looked canned.

The best pizza around. Much like it’s sister store in Algonquin, this gets a solid 9.1. Anyone who says otherwise has a garbage palate.

30 bux a pizza? What in the heck. The crust is straight garbage. I took a bite and the cheese just slid off. I honestly cant believe people pay 30 bux a pizza for that. Bewildered

Solid especially for the area. Best in Huntley, Marengo, Woodstock by far. Keep er movin

Look, you got open seating, Cubs on the corrupt WGN playing, and a darn good thin crust pizza stuffed to capacity. Get the “Chicago” or “garbage” thin crust pizza for the best thin crust in Northwest burbs! Wife says 9.0 but that’s a rookie score. I’m gonna give it a 8.1. Nothin to call the mother in law about, but definitely something to treat her to when she comes to tell me how much a mess the yard is.
