Pizza Review
Lots of rookie scores in here. Sal’s is no 8.0 pizza. Flavorless. Easily forgettable Here we go! Upon entry, the smell of garlic and pizza is exhilarating! Than you walk over to the glass and see them making your pizza right in front of you. I mean, who doesn’t like brick oven pizza?!? Well those that know pizza; knows that this ovens are kept at around 700-800 degrees. Well, after receiving mine and seeing the flop I got on my slice. I’m going to take a stab and say this oven was well under 500. First, the pizza took about 20 minutes to cook. Normally in brick ovens it’s about half that. No char on the bottom. Tremendous flop. No crisp and floury and chewy crust. The sauce was a bit on the salty side and there were pools of oil on top. From call to pick up it took 45 minutes. I was told 20-25min. The kitchen seemed chaotic and tickets seemed to have gotten mixed up. Overall rating is 4.1 of 10. If the oven was hot enough I’m sure this pie would be at least a 7.5 or higher. But the lack of crisp, char and too much grease takes this score way down.
