Forgot to take a picture, and maybe it was just an off pie but I couldn’t taste anything but the canned spaghettios from the sauce and while the crust was light and airy it was past the point of charred and was burnt. Was excited for this place but $26 for a cheese pizza that I didn’t like at all is not enticing. 3.4

You can tell quality and freshness of ingredients by how the flavor pops. Dough, sauce cheese are all spot on. Type of pie you don’t feel bad after eating it. Unfortunately they were swamped so think they rushed it a little bit because it was FLOP CITY, was boarder line Neapolitan. If there was any crisp at all it’d be a low to mid 8. Pepperoni and hot honey would have been close to a 9 if had crisp. Great staff and cool spot, by far best pizza in Austin area. Worth the drive if you are anywhere in area visiting.

Excellent! This is probably the best NYC-style pizza in the pizza-starved wasteland ofTexas. I’ve tried a ton of them, the majority never even come close but this one nails it. 7.8 rating for Texas pizza. If Sammataro was in NYC, maybe consider keeping it in the oven a couple more minutes and decrease the amount of olive oil on top, but for Texas this is a top-quality NYC-style pizza. Easy 8.5+ if cooked longer and less oil on top.

This might be second best in Austin behind pedoros love supreme is pretty close behind them if not tied

I recommend getting the vodka pie! I had both the original and vodka, but liked the vodka even better! Great New York style. Basil leaves are a nice touch as well.

Sat in box for a while and it was still delicious!

Outstanding! A must hit and worth the drive no matter where you are in the Austin area. It’s in a shared space with lots of other food truck vendors, so there is something for everyone.

The sauce man. Sauce is amazing. The undercarriage was spot on. Perfect amount of fluff and crunch. Eat here.

A bit floppy. Had a margherita and one with sausage, mushrooms and hot honey drizzle. Tasty, and I’d imagine it’s the best pizza in Austin. Spent a lot of time there years ago and remember not finding much quality pizza

A bit soupy on top. Very tomato-y. Had a little flip. Nice powdery undercarriage. Good appearance and texture. Solid pizza.

What a pie. As light as a feather. Not sure how this exists in Texas. The parm elevates this a lot. Great use of basil. Solid undercarriage and good cheese.

Outrageously expensive at $26 for a plain cheese, but it is very good. Crust flavor is incredible, esp with char. Good undercarriage, but not crispy. Might be one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had straight out of the fridge. Another outrageous $4 for a shot glass size of vodka sauce which is very good. I think pres should have gone 8.1. Not a traditional nyc thin and crispy.

Best pizza in Austin! Picture does not it Justice. Sammataro West is the place to go to. Excellent pizza and vibe!

The sauce makes the pizza. It’s unreal. Perhaps the best sauce I’ve had on a pizza of this style.
