impressive bar pizza with a good atmosphere. Great place to go with friends but not every pizza is as good as the buffalo chicken one.

A little too doughy, could use more sauce. Delicious toppings, good crust. I got the bbq chicken pizza 🍕

Was suprised there was no flop but not much flavor, crust had a good crunch but overall mediocre.

Better than average. Quality sauce and cheese but the dough needs a little more tang. Looks like a great spot to sit down have a beer and enjoy some pizza and wings. Nice tiki set up

SandBox Pizza Grand Ave Pacific Beach Sports bar with Build-Your-Own Pizza from an extensive ingredients list. Dominos-style conveyor oven gives decent char to toppings. For a sports bar Pizza, better than delivery ***2.5 Slices...will do in a pinch

Great for the style. Still trying to find that cracker thin crispy crust but this curbs the craving until I make it back to the Midwest.

I will have a nice little chain of pizza reviews from my San Diego visit. Just couldn't get away from the Chicagoan in me. Anyway, Sandbox was the best I had. Although not perfect, it's got its own identity that was very refreshing and delicious. The cheese has a nice brown caramelization, which I find to be a lost art. That extra browning gives a charred flavor that adds to the overall taste of the pizza. The cheese was sufficient and didn't weigh down the slices. The sauce was savory and not sweet, and tied into the pepperoni nicely. The dough wasn't crispy by any means, but it was cooked well and was airy around the outside crust. Great flavor and freshness.
