I was hyped as hell to try this pizza after seeing not only Dave’s review but other reviews in the 8s. Disappointed to say the least. The crust tastes like a burnt saltine cracker. Intense flop. So intense that the cheese dripped right off. Way too much corn meal in the dough. I feel like I was at the ballpark spitting seeds. Sauce was the best part but I was so let down overall.

Surprised how high of ratings this place gets, not sure what all the hype is about. In no way shape or form compares to their rival in the North end. Very basic pizza with easy Mac flavors, very disappointed 3 times in a row.

Really good pizza. Favorite part was the sauce which was excellent followed by the cheese. The crust, was different. Very crisp in the edge, floppy in the middle but overall okay. Had on the bottom what looked and tasted like cracked dried garlic and pepper

Considered to be near the top of the Boston pizza game and a major rival of Regina’s, Santarpio’s offers pies slightly bigger than bar pies and lots of great toppings. However, just judging the cheese pizza, it’s not even in Regina’s ballpark. The sauce is fantastic, a delightfully sweet blend of crushed plum tomatoes and spices. The cheese is above average and enhanced by the Parmesan dumped on top. The dough is crispy but lacks any real taste. The crust is super crispy but totally void of any flavor and has the consistency of a cracker. Overall, it’s pretty good but not better than Regina’s or any of the best NY pies. If this is considered top 5 Boston pizza, I feel bad for that city.

Honestly, I was disappointed in this pie. I was expecting a lot more based on the previous reviews. My pie compared to others just doesn’t look nearly as good. I don’t know if the guy who normally doesn’t make pizza made mine; but it was just tough to even give it a 6. Too much corn meal on the bottom. Not enough sauce. Bland crust and cheese. Flop in light of ordering well done. Nice tavern atmosphere, though. I hate rating it this low; but I gotta do it
