Amazing. The one word id use to describe this pizza. Sauce to cheese ratio is to perfection. It has the tiniest but of a salty taste and still the crust is crunchy yet so amazing.

I must say this place has got to be one of my favorite pizza places so far in New Jersey. I ventured out here from the Lake Hopatcong area with my 3 year old daughter. Due to the pandemic this place is a take out only and possibly delivery(not sure). I called ahead and had to bring exact change. Upon arriving at the side door I understood why. You put the money in this tube that leads to a plastic container. The man was very helpful. He saw me struggling with my daughter, and preceded to walk the from the restaurant with my pizzas and said where are you parked. I was very grateful for that. I ordered two pies the 1967 more sauce less cheese and the regular 1/2 cheese 1/2 meatball pie. Before the trek home my daughter and I decided to try some slices while it was still fresh. The sauce is one of the most genuine sauces I have had on a pizza and the crust was cooked crispy just the way I like it. You not only got my approval but you got the approval of my daughter as well. Thanks for helping.

Expensive and the sauce tasted like bowling alley pizza which isn’t a bad thing but definitely different for New Jersey. Couldn’t tell if they put olive oil on this one

This place is absolutely outstanding! Sauce had great tang, and the crust is electric!!!! A must visit!

Ok you know when you go to the fancy restaurant and leave underwhelmed. Al’s barstool review is ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY The garlic bread was electric the pizza had nice crisp but the sauce was different and not my cup of tea. At least I got the real 🇮🇹 shit

Wow, what a disappointment - way over cooked & beyond crisp (burnt). Their ego demands $25 per pie (today anyway - I paid it), buy the pie I had back in 1975 @ the Perth Amboy roller rink was better back then & probably would be better today too!

This is some of the best Jersey has to offer... old school, texture, sauce, crisp for days. Exceptional.

Taste like frozen pizza. A lot of sauce and you don’t taste the cheese. Also I’m very confused at the fact that they want you to pay exact change so the virus isn’t spread through the money but yet NONE of the workers wear a mask! VERY EXPENSIVE and they work slow

1964... amazing crust (that’s a 9.7), didn’t specify a cook time, let AL give us what he thinks is right and man it was perfect. Nice crunch, great flavor. I get why it’s up there with the best.

Wow I was so disappointed ☹️ had high hopes and was let down hard. Was super hard burnt to a crisp and sauce was way over seasoned and on the sweeter side. Also it was overpriced I wouldn't pay more then $10 for this nevermind $24 do not recommend and will not be eating here again

Second time trying Santillo’s. I said I’d be back because of the crust alone and that holds true. I tried the “1957” which is extra thin. Damn crust is crazy good. And I stand by my last review that you MUST eat this pizza hot on the spot. It cools down and gets chewy too quick. I thought there was a great sauce to cheese ratio. And it wasn’t too greasy. But my original review stands. Al won’t like me saying it but the sauce is just too over seasoned. Too much going on. I hate to say it has a chain taste to it. But, It’s the crust that has me coming back to try more...

Great sauce, tangy with flavor of oregano throughout. No flop, excellent crunch especially the crust. Great pizza. 1957 shown here.

1957 Style Thin-Crust 14" cooked to a 10. The 10 is the level of done-ness. I went a little over-board as the 10 is described as brown/black crust and their menu's description is accurate. Would go with a 9 next time. Regardless, the charred crust combined with the cheese and best SAUCE EVER made it all come together. The whole eating experience was like a symphony. Man, that SAUCE though! Did I mention the sauce? Every bite was crispy and had jusssst enough "soft". Crispy, thin and doughy? It's complex. If you've had other cracker-like pizza you'd be able to differentiate. This is thin-crust, but not like a cracker (Nancy's Towne House). An incredible amount of love and attention to detail go into this pizza -- over a century's worth.

Sorry Dave, this pizza is not even close to an 8. Good crisp is all this pizza offers.

The most overrated overhyped pizza ever. Sauce tasted straight out of a can. Chewy crust and not on a good way.
