2011 pie. 1/2 sausage. Amazing. Great time talking to the owner. A must location.

Missed a connecting flight to Dallas so ended up in a hotel close by. Thought hey were in jersey maybe there's a decent spot close by. Cant say we quite have anything like it in Dallas. Did the thin pie, "1954" I think. Absolutely zero flop, a nice crunch, and the sauce has good flavor. Great pie.

Sicilian and the house special thin are terrific. And the white Sicilian with a sesame crust is not to be missed. Place lives up to the hype.

The 2020 breaks a 9. The pie here is delicious. And it’s the best crust I’ve ever had in my life. Got the 1964 and the 2020 and they both had a great (and distinct) flavor. Al really is a master because the pies….sure they were delicious but at the same time, they were also unique. Each pie truly had its own unique flavor profile. And the crust on both of these pies was unreal. I can see why Al won so many awards. Every single bite had a delicious crispy crunch to it. EVERY. SINGLE. BITE. Probably the best crust I’ve ever had in my life. By the time I got to the end, I was really savoring each little bite of the buttery crust. Al is a real character and all heart. Got the chance to talk to him for a little bit and you can tell he truly loves what he does. When I told him I came all the way out from Queens to try his pizza he said “I love meeting people who are as excited about good pizza as I am!” ♦️The 1964 (MY PIZZA SCORE 8.9🍕) —💥slightly sweet sauce —💥FULL OF FLAVOR and Italian spices. —💥delicious all around flavor ♦️The 2020: (My pizza score 9.2🍕) —💥THIS ONE FOR ME WAS MY FAVORITE🤫. The fresh mozz and San Marzano tomatoes take this pie to a whole other level. —💥Delicious buttery crust —💥Tomatoes taste like they were plucked right off the vine, then seasoned, and then cooked right on my pizza. So so so fresh!!!! ✅ PRO TIPS ✅ —💥Be sure to look at the menu and see how you want it cooked. Each pie is baked to order so for me, I ordered my pizzas to be baked with a Dark Golden Crust and it came out perfect!! I’m gonna order it like that every time. —💥Let the pizza cool off for a few minutes and you’ll really get a chance to taste even more flavors. —💥No credit card. Pay with EXACT cash or VENMO.

Santillo himself took my order & recommended what to get, awesome dude. What I have here is a half half split, half of what Portnoy ordered & the other half is what Santillo recommended - the 1964 style with parmesan (pepperoni on half of each). Both pizzas are delicious. They share a unique texture, with a chewy dough & amazing crisp crust. Whatever style Portnoy got, I give it an 8.1 which is well above average. The '64 pizza is so good. The parmesan makes it salty but I enjoy that. Awesome texture & flavor - you can taste the quality ingredients. It's probably as good as a pizza can get without hitting the 9s. I'll be coming back, favorite pizza in Jersey so far.

The pizza itself was a perfect 10.0. The taste of the sauce, for me, was a 5.0. Blended average. Will try again.

Review from last Friday night - Sauce had a distinctive flavor of herbs and the crust had a distinctive texture. Overall, a unique pie. I guess that’s because it was made with the real effing ginny sh*t.

I may have never known about Santillo’s if it wasn’t for Dave’s pizza reviews. Thanks Dave! I have to say I’m surprised Santillo’s doesn’t have a MUCH higher rating! In my opinion this is the best and it’s well worth the trip I take from Brooklyn just to get one of Santillo’s pies! Al is hilarious and he’s the real deal. His product is superb! From the quality of ingredients to how it’s cooked, it gets no better IMO. Consistent every single time. Pictured here is Al’s lasagna pizza, a must try! If you haven’t tried Santillo’s yet, make your way to Elizabeth, NJ and give this one a shot. You will NOT be disappointed! Al gets the highest score from this Brooklyn guy!

I ordered a thin crust but may not have ordered correct as there is a lot of choices. Sauce has just a bit of sweetness. Cheese was plentiful. Crust was crunchy and no flop but the edges were a bit too done for me. Definitely going back for the 1957 extra thin.

Wasn’t much flavor in the cheese, sauce, or the crust. Very different pizza, I must be missing something. The owner is great, gotta respect him and what he does. Just not my kind of pizza unfortunately. I wanted to really like it!

Very very good pie, I asked for it to be cooked “dark golden”. Al Santillo himself told me “it doesn’t get any better than this”. Good strong tomato and herbal notes in the sauce, cheese is very good, not too salty, thin and crispy crust. Not much grease actually, well balanced, which was a pleasant surprise. Really do like this spot.

I don’t know what to think of this pie. Crust was not as good as I expected at all. Cheese was slightly above average but the sauce was wayyyyy too much. Pasty and a ton of oregano.

Gotta say, I couldn’t of been more disappointed with this pie. I’m not sure if I ordered the wrong thing, or if I am supposed to tell them something specific - idk. It tasted like Elio’s frozen pizza. That’s all I could think the entire time. I think it just had wayyyyy too much oregano on it. The sauce / cheese balance was fine, but the taste just was never there for me. I’m going to give it another go down the line and hope I get a better pie.

The 1964 created a new tier of quality pizza. Unmatched in my experience.
