Scarr's Pizza

The wizard of Scarr’s is what I call it. This place here is my discovery. I walked into this spot way back in 2017. A little hole in the wall in Chinatown. Had a vintage look to it. I walked in there ordered a hot slice and they gave me a giant slice. And right there I’ve been telling ppl ever since how good this pizza is. 8 years later it has one of the best reps in the city. And deservingly so. A cheesy slice, soft fluffy dough and piping hot right from the oven. No one could say anything bad about this slice. Except for one person, and that person is the pizza demon. The Pizza Demon doesn’t like that Scarr’s has a couple of fellas working behind the counter that aren’t career pizza men. The Pizza Demon didn’t like how there was only one line. But mostly the Pizza Demon didn’t like that it was a 30 dollar pie. The Pizza Demon is probably going to disagree with this score. But take it from me, Scarr’s is a top 10 pie in the city. It’s one of the greats and it’s going to be around for a long time, so get use to them there Pizza Demon.

Frankly, a little overrated.

If I was rating the cheese this would be around an 8.5 or 8.6, but the vodka slice took it to that next level. All the ingredients come together and the crust is *chefs kiss*. My favorite pizza on my NYC trip perhaps????

Had Plain, Margherita and Pepperoni. Plain was 7.7, not very well done and pretty greasy but the sauce tasted good. Margherita was an 8.4, very well done and had a heavy amount of sauce. Pepperoni a 7.9. More well done than cheese but pepperoni flavor carried

Scarr’s Pizza delivers a solid pie that was cooked with a beautifully charred crust that added both texture and flavor. The undercarriage was sturdy yet light, offering the perfect balance between structure and chew. The cheese and sauce distribution was on point, with just the right ratio to create a harmonious taste. The sauce itself stood out, boasting a sweet yet soothing flavor that complemented the cheese.

Very very very thin, nice crust. cheese and sauce good. It’s an ok slice. Not bad

good crunch. sauce is unremarkable. crust on end is too crispy.

This slice had 3 things working against it. I was already full, the slice could’ve been heated more, and I usually don’t love pepperoni. YET this pepperoni slice triumphed. The thinnest undercarriage I’ve seen, and it wasn’t necessarily crunchy, but it had a nice chewy texture that worked! Great crust. The pepperoni was great, had a meaty flavor and texture that you can’t find in store-bought or chain pepperoni slices. Hard to judge cheese and sauce since pepperoni flavor was strong but worked in harmony with everything

Super good crust. Hotboi slice earned an 8.5 🔥

Scarrs comes in just below an 8 for me right outside the inner circles of great pizza, yet certainly qualifying as very good. The biggest knock was the undercarriage needed to be more well done and bit crunchier, had a lot of NY flop, though the crust was made just right. The sauce was the best part here by far and had me eating more even after I was full. Definitely recommend a try but don't recommend if you have sensitive hearing, they put their music on more than full blast. I could barely hear the person sitting across from me.

Overall we liked it there could have had more sauce. Crust was thin and crispy and good flavor. Also had a slice of the Hot Boi. Pepperoni and jalapeño with hot honey. I give that slice a 8.2

Extreme New York City Pedigree 🔔 ‼️ Ratio - weak, not enough sauce, as in, not even close Execution- baking process is fine, but the ratio, coupled with the borderline non- existent taste makes this a sad face considering the reputation Sauce- where? Is it in the back, in the kitchen? Cheese - uninspiring. Neutral taste and texture Dough- adequate crunch, neutral taste This is why I continue to say Manhattan is worthless for pizza Absolutely, positively not travel worthy. Barely neighborhood worthy Razor thin grease bomb Next!!

Life is all about expectations, and perhaps mine were too high for Scarr’s. It was fine. Crust was thin and crispy. Cheese was pretty good. I didn’t love the sauce, and there wasn’t enough of it in any event. I’d get it again, and some of the other slices looked great (margarita and grandma), but it wasn’t anything terribly special.

Thin but not crispy. Floppy. Was light though, felt like on an empty stomach could eat 4-5 slices. Crust was top tier. Everything was else was mid. Hesitant 7.4

This truly lived up to its name “Hot Bois” with a great blend of crispy pepperoni and peppers and the addition of the hot honey made me get a second slice. The undercarriage was solid and the cheese was exquisite and drippy cause I like my cheese drippy bruh. Overall a very solid slice 👍

The crust is crazy good,

Regular cheese was a good slice of pizza, the crust was really good and crispy; I’ve had better tomato sauce though. The Sicilian was not very good, the cheese tasted like cheap mozzarella. *Only the cheese slice gets scored*
