Pizza Review
This is the definition of polarizing pizza. When a pie is unique, the spectrum of ratings slide from love it to hate it with few in between. The main ingredient that seems to be causing all the commotion is the sauce, which I can only assume is made from pure sugar. So sweet, you’ll feel it in your teeth. Not unpleasant, just different from your standard sauces. To be honest, the sauce is so overpowering, I didn’t even notice there was cheese on this pie. They sprinkle Parmesan on top to try to neutralize the sweetness. The pizza is smallish & thin, like it wants to be a bar pie but it’s clearly not. The dough is extremely floppy and soggy from the abundance of oil permeating throughout the pie. Way too much grease for such a small pie. The crust has a nice taste and is the crispiest part of the pizza. I commend them on creating a uniquely flavored pie, now they just need to take a few steps to improve the quality. Start with less oil and more crispiness, that will boost the ratings into the 7s. And lastly, include the Parmesan on the side so people can choose if they want it for themselves. Portnoy definitely would have scored higher if that were the case. As it stands, this is pretty decent pizza with lots of potential to improve.
