Pizza Review
First, a few reviews here rate and comment on the Senape’s bakery pitza. The bakery is under different ownership than Senape’s tavern and that pitza is completely different. Several people are confused. Senape’s Tavern is a tough review because there’s nothing like it! It’s the pitza by which I judge all square Sicilian type pizzas. We did square scamutz with sausage (pictured) and square scamutz plain. It was perfectly done with the scamutz caramelized over the edge. Sauce is more tangy than sweet, which pairs well with the scamutz cheese. This is opposed to the sweet sauce used on “old forge” style of pizza NEPA can be known for, nor do they use scamutz cheese. Senape’s blows Old Forge style out of the water in my opinion. I would rate higher but need to leave some room to score higher in the unlikely event I find something better.
