While I’ve had Serial Grillers pizza at the Speedway location a few years ago, it was a pretty amazing pie. When my band would finish unloading into the club down the street, I would walk down the street and get their pizza. It was one of my fav reasons for playing the club down the road.
However, the Cortaro location has failed miserably. First off, their Google reviews are pretty bad, but we thought we’d give them the “ol collage try” and find out if all the negative reviews were correct for ourselves. While I’m not here to rate the establishment, I will say the reviews were prettt spot on.
Ordered the tradition large pepperoni. Nothing like I remember the Speedway location being. Don’t know what happened here at this location, but there was so much cheese on this pie I could have sworn I was eating a cheese quesadilla. There was little to no sauce and no other taste bud flavor other than CHEESE. The crust and the undercarriage were great, I will give them that, but it wasn’t a pizza, it was a cheese quesadilla with pepperonis on it. Which did nothing to mask the amount of cheese on the pizza.
Unfortunately we’ll never be back.
