Pizza Review
The cheese slice had good flavor but it was very floppy and greasy. Also way too much cornmeal on the dough. The meatball ricotta slice was awesome but the score is for the cheese.
Pizza Review
If you’re for a quality New York pizza: Sgt. Pepperoni is your kind of pizza. General tip: always call in and order a pizza; don’t call/walk-in and ask for a slice — it isn’t as fresh and you can taste the difference. My favorite is the MEAT: it has all the types of meats you can imagine — and only meats. It’s a great pizza got meat-lovers such as myself. My 2nd favorite is the BBQ chicken. I usually ask for mine with extra BBQ sauce bc I feel like the chicken tends to get dry. However, the past 2 times I’ve had the BBQ chicken it’s been phenomenal. I tried 2 new slices this most recent visit: the Buffalo Chicken and the Meatball Ricotta. The Buffalo Chicken was a lot better than I expected. The ranch sauce layer wasn’t overpowering, and they put just the right amount of hot sauce drizzle on top. (I did get a slice, so I could taste that it wasn’t as fresh since the chicken was slightly dry). Lastly, the Meatball Ricotta is great for the lasagna lovers out there. When you take a bite, the meatball and ricotta instantly remind you of a traditional lasagna. As a huge lasagna fan myself, this pizza was surprisingly good. I loved the clumps of ricotta they dispersed throughout the slice — I just wish there was a little more meatballs... (Again, I ordered a pre-made slice of this pizza, but, I could tell that a fresh one of these bad boys would be delicious). Overall, Sgt. Pepperoni’s is our favorite local pizza place; and, we can’t wait to try more different slices next time we visit.
