Pizza Review
While this is billed as a “Margherita pizza,” it’s really more of a white pie. Loaded with whipped ricotta, there’s absolutely no sauce whatsoever. The marinated tomatoes provide the only red on the pizza but they’re pretty basic tasting. Little pieces of unmelted fresh mozzarella are scattered about but would be better melted. There’s a strong garlic flavor permeating throughout the pie and a nice glaze of olive oil instead of regular pizza grease you get with most generic pies. The basil chiffonade is mostly for decoration but provides a little extra flavor. The dough is rather soft but decently tasty. One of the best attributes of the pie is the exquisitely thin and crispy crust, completely saves the pizza from scoring in the low 6s, great crunch and flavor. This is a decent spot for food and drinks but pizza isn’t really their specialty. It’s not bad if you’re looking to pair it with some adult beverages but there are better pizza joints in Stamford.
