Pizza Review
Open since April of 2019, essentially a year before the beginning of the pandemic, these are the new kids on the block in the Stamford pizza game. They claim to serve brick oven, “New York style” pizza; but the only thing NY about their slices is the large size. This was a sloppy loose mess, cheese sliding all over the place, lubed up from the vat of grease sloshing around the pie. The heavy oil overpowers the taste of everything, leaving behind a salty flavor in its wake. The sauce is absolutely tasteless, no flavor whatsoever; doesn’t even taste like plain tomatoes. I had to pour a ton of garlic powder on each slice just to choke it down. The cheese is thickish and harbors the abundance of grease, also making it difficult to decipher any flavor. The dough is thinnish, mega floppy, and absent of crisp leading to a crust that leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, these are subpar ingredients to say the least, producing a bland and boring pizza that needs a lot of work. Control the oil flow, spice up the sauce significantly and crisp up the dough; until those measures are taken, no needs to waste calories here.
