Sliceworks

Founded in 2012 by the Scileppi family of Long Island, this 17th Street joint is 1 of 4 SliceWorks locations in Colorado including Castle Rock, Thornton & another spot on Colfax Ave in Denver. They serve what they call “NY style” pizza, which is essentially traditional football pizza in the Rockies. Basically Denver’s version of a decent NYC dollar slice, this is a classic, standard pizza. Very doughy, heavy & mostly soft with minimal char but surprisingly tasty. With a firm undercarriage & virtually no floppage, the pie lacks crisp & the crust is missing crunch; but the dough has better than average flavor. Melty, oozy & gooey, the shredded mozzarella cheese blend is deliciously creamy with fantastic flow to go along with above average quality texture & taste. The grease is nicely contained and more than manageable. The sauce is somewhat sweet, with a touch of tang & moderate zip. Not a particularly special tomato sauce blend but very acceptable middle-of-the-road flavor. Overall, this is a classic round cheese pizza, tried & true, solid & reliable, a Coors Field fastball down the pipe. In New York, this probably comes in around a 6.8 rating; but in Denver this could easily be an edible-induced 8.1 depending on dosage. Nonetheless, this is a pretty good “anytime pizza,” regardless of sobriety coming in at a more than fair 7.4 score.

Everything you’d expect from your neighborhood slice place. Crispy and light with tangy sauce. The white pizza looks fantastic, and they have a variety for you to chose from in their case.

Their Grandmas pie I got here reminds me of the grandma down the street that used to give it to me consistently

Really good. Was a little floppy but the crust was nice and crunchy.

Pepperoni was seriously awesome and so delicious! I mean, it was definitely above average, no doubt about it. But let me tell you, the white pizza? Oh boy, it has quickly become one of my absolute favorite types!

Great slice here at SLICE works great atmosphere not in review but garlic knots were holy and I saw the stairs to heaven open up when I ate them but nice pie.

Consistent good pizza

Super basic, reminds me of good Costco pizza. Overall pretty decent. Good neighborhood pie.

6.2 mid lowkey. Not worth hype

Really good pizza. It taste like sbarro pizza tasted before they all closed down. I would definitely recommend.

Cheese slice

A solid slice. Not the best or worst. The service is the same. Lots of odd signature pizzas, if that’s your thing.

Not bad, just nothing to write home about. Solid slice, and plenty of par baked options.

Light and crispy crust! Good toppings.

This is just rating the baked potato pizza. Good undercarriage, great flavor on the toppings. Good crisp crust, reminds me of Giorgio’a in East Lansing.

best pizza i’ve ever had by far bud

Everyone knows the rules. This pizza is pretty good and the slices are big as you can see. Nothing I had was the best, as all three had the merits. The crust was chewy and not really what I want in pizza. The sauce was okay and the ingredients were fine. The stuffed pizza is your best bang for your buck but all the flavors just sort of meld together.
