Rating JM red oak handle, Rubio finish,Rolls Royce of cutters…10 Slice eye test- good Congruency of eye test with taste- terrible Cheese- too much and no special taste. Adequate overall taste but not distinctive in light of the lack of sauce to bring things home into the land of excellence. Sauce- not enough, can’t taste it Dough- bready and tasteless Ratio- bready, cheesy, lousy Execution- does it matter? Fair Daniel Boone said, “America is a land of freedom and hope.” Hopefully I’ll have the freedom to keep searching for good pizza. Overall- taste was boring. No distinct characteristics. Not one component was above average.

Rigatoni vodka the way to go at this joint

Pizza was good. Soft Crust. Sauce was tangy. Good cheese. Overall good local pizza. The best part was the family who owns and runs the place. Very nice people.

I really like when a pizza pie isn’t a perfect circle; that tells me it was made fresh and uniquely. The dough is nice and firm, zero flop, with bread crumbs underneath to keep the pizza dry from excess moisture, extending all the way to the doughy, crispy crust. The cheese is kind of thickish but melted perfectly with a nice oozy flow and delicious shredded mozzarella taste. It’s a little greasier than I expected, but very manageable. The sauce is a tad light and not as distinguishable as I would like. A slight kick in flavor and uptick in quantity would help push this pie into the 8s. The one ingredient that is pervasive throughout the pizza is basil. Despite no visible fresh basil atop the pie, there is plenty chopped up and baked into the pizza, becoming the overriding flavor. Overall, I think this joint is slightly overrated but they still make a very good pie. I wouldn’t travel far for it but it’s an excellent local go-to option.

Best pizza I ever had. Owner is the man, and he puts more flavor in this pizza then a kitchen full of Italians.

Absolutely massive slice. Heavy, cheesy, and greasy. However, it was pretty damn good. Not the type slice where you can knock back too many of them. Chicken parm slice was good too, but again, very heavy.

Light and fluffy pizza kinda like a combo of neopolitan and football pizza. Solid

I’m from IL so I’m born and raised deep dish. But since moving to the area I can honestly say I’ve converted. This pizza is crispy without being “cracker-y” and the crust is fluffy without being doughy. Really the best pizza I’ve ever had. SOLID UNDERCARRIAGE.

Montclair’s Best. Slightly charred, tender crust baked with cornmeal. Great sauce in good proportion to the fresh tasting cheese.
