I’m not a fan of pizzerias with gimmick names. It’s usually a desperate attempt to generate business to make up for lackluster pies. But despite riding the coattails of Sopranos TV fame, this joint actually has some pretty solid pizza. The dough is surprisingly firm, nice consistency and very good taste. The cheese is mostly generic, nothing discernible about it, as standard as decent pizza cheese comes. The sauce is a tad watery, needs to be thickened and given a little kick in the zest department. One of the reasons the sauce is liquidy is because of the excess grease, which is manageable, but definitely thins the sauce. The crust is easily the best part: crispy, light, good char, saves the pie from dipping into the 6s. Overall, this is pretty decent pizza, nothing special, certainly room for improvement and I’d start with a name change. Improve the pie and lose the gimmick or fuggedaboutit.
