Sticks & Bricks Wood Fired Pizza

First off, I want to address the price on this so if you don’t care just skip to the next paragraph. I called in a 14 inch wood fired pizza with cup n char pepperoni and it came to a little over 20 dollars. Seemed high but I never order from here so maybe that’s just their price? Nah. I got charged for 2 toppings. Cup n char pepperoni and regular pepperoni. Eh, not the end of the world but still strange. My fault for not catching it I guess. One topping would have been closer to 16 dollars which isn’t bad. ANYWAY, pizza was decent! Dough was a little thin in the center and flopped like crazy and I know a wood fired pizza will have some char on it but I’m usually not too wild about it. This is juuust a hair above my preferred char level. Sauce was really good, cheese was nice, pepperoni was great and just a tad too much crust on the end. Certainly a tasty pizza but I’ll probably opt for their normal NY style if I go back. They’re a bit out of the way for me to get them regularly.

Definitely a little tang to the sauce. Pretty cool spot but pizza is just right to where you should get it for the ball Game!

Best NY style pizza you can get around here. Just ask for well done and you get something pretty close, Zero to little flop, Good cheese but sauce is lacking a flavor but still good. Too much leftover flour on the crust. If done like this more consistently it would be a 7.5. But here I will give a 6.8

Wood fired pepperoni. Solid undercarriage. Nice little charred taste. Not quite crispy enough for my liking. Overall pretty decent pizza (one of the best in Erie)

My parents live in Erie and I’ve been trying the different local pizza restaurants in the area on each visit. I have to say I might be done with my sample because I this pizza was delicious. We got the Old 56 and a 1/2 cheese with 1/2 fresh mushrooms. Good undercarriage, light, and fresh. It could have gone one more minute in the oven but that’s a personal preference. Not my photo.

Hand-thrown too-tough sourdough crust appears misshapen at first glance. Good tasting, but heavy on the cornmeal.

Pretty good pizza. Cheese is quality. The taste of the sauce isn’t very distinguished underneath the cheese. I did ask for it well done since I love crispy and even a few burnt spots on the crust and undercarriage. Well, it wasn’t very done. Maybe the girl on the phone forgot to tell the cook. And lastly, a bit too much flour left on the crust and bottom. I love a brick oven pizza but this could be better on another day and where they cook it to my liking. May give them another chance.

With the severe disappointment in the quality of pizza I have endured in Ohio, Pennsylvania came through clutch. A quick Google search for wood fired pizzas led me here on my way home. The dough is fresh and baked well with a nice, light and airy crust. The cheese is up there with some of the best that I’ve had. The sauce from what I could taste is good but the cheese dominates this pizza and I’m not complaining. I did order this pie “well done” but it needed just a couple of more minutes. Overall with a couple of small tweaks, this pizza is great! If you’re in Erie, stop by here!

Bought a large 18” and 16 wings with a coupon for $23. It was a hit with the entire family, and we’ll definitely be getting it again! The pizza crust was thin, without being crunchy or floppy, which is a science in itself. The toppings were perfectly cooked, and the wings were great. Maybe we’ll try the 24” next time for something extraordinary!
