Cool little spot, has a local neighborhood hidden gem vibe. They’ve been around for over 20yrs, not sure how I’m just getting here now for the first time. Closes early so probably more of a lunch spot.
This is a big spot for hoagies so I went with the hot wing which I’m told is most popular. The bread is the best part, it’s soft fresh and light which I always like. It’s more of a grilled chicken which isn’t my preference but the sauce isn’t too spicy and good amount of blue cheese, solid overall.
The pizza was okay, pretty neutral overall. Cheese isn’t strong like a traditional old forge style, the sauce maybe has a little bit of bite from spices but not a ton of flavor, doesn’t need extra sauce so stick with normal. Most notable thing is the crust, can’t put my finger on it but it’s tastes (and the building smells like) a fair or church picnic of something, nostalgic for some reason.
I like the idea of supporting the people and maybe trying the rest of the menu.
