Established in 1979, Suvio’s was once declared “The Best Pizza in Morris County” by the Daily Record. However, the competition has stiffened significantly in the area over the years. Smallish for a fairly standard football pizza, thick & doughy in some areas, while oddly thinnish near the center of the pie. A very typical, traditional, unspectacular-looking pizza but rather tasty nonetheless. Despite a somewhat firm undercarriage, the pie is lacking in crisp & crunch to go along with a very thick & doughy crust. While it doesn’t sparkle, the sauce is very solid, decently sweet & just flavorful enough; in need of some kick & a little punch for pizzazz, the dearth of spices delivers barely above average taste. Creamy & delicious, the cheese is a wonderfully melty shredded mozzarella blend, tasty with terrific texture. A very solid pie overall, it doesn’t particularly wow you but it delivers a straight fastball right down the middle. A fine Friday night neighborhood pizza, not quite on par with Morristown’s best like Coniglio’s or Millie’s; but still a well-rounded, very good pie.
