Pizza Review
Maybe it’s the name of the joint, but going in I expected a much fancier pie. This is a pretty standard, very heavy, thick & doughy football pizza. Adding to the heftiness is the substantially thick layer of cheese blanketing the entire pie. Fairly generic mozzarella, nothing special, but definitely an oil-inducing blend. The grease appears to be more prevalent than the sauce which is thin, soupy & scant...in dire need of a kick & a thicker consistency. The dough is surprisingly firm with a somewhat buttery flavor. The crust is very solid, decent crisp & rather tasty except for the cascading grease that eventually infiltrates the crust by the end of consuming a slice. It’s not a terrible pie but some adjustments should be made: less cheese, more sauce with extra spices, and way less oil. Despite all that, it’s still a respectfully solid pizza pie.
