Ski Mountain Pizza. A hole-in-the-wall pizza place tucked away in the woods on the side of a mountain. Run by a small family where the dad and son make the pizza in a little log cabin with a few dining seats. In a small happy environment, the father was super friendly and his face lit up when I said the pizza was amazing. Indeed, it was. The 16” pie was glossed with a perfect cheese-to-sauce ratio. The sauce was sweet and the cheese pulled graciously away when I bit into it. The underlaying crust was thin, which didn’t provide much undercarriage. However, it was still strong enough to support the fantastic flavor of the cheese, pepperoni, and seasoning all blended together. A pie not doughy like a New York style, but not thin like a cracker crust St. Louis style. Even with the thinness of the pizza, there was still a terrific crunch and char on the edge crust, with the perfect amount of toppings and not too much grease: a rarity among most places. In light of this, this pie ranked high on the one bite scale. 7.8. That’s a review.
