Pizza Review
This is about as classic as it gets, and I don't doubt their claim of authenticity. The sauce has a nice tang to it, the cheese and pepperoni are yummy and flavorful, dough is good and well-made. The crust is a doughy type rather than crispy, so no real char to it, but it's still good. It's made well, not too greasy even with the extra pepperoni, and no ingredients were skimped. Sprinkling on a little heat made the flavors pop. Overall it comes together with a solid, if classic, taste that doesn't try to be anything it's not. Itsa-pitsa. It's actually a quite good pizza. One catch though (as of this writing), I find it a bit pricey. Well, not when you consider it's 18"; you actually get a lot of pizza for your money, but it's a lot of pizza, and a lot of money. The only other size they offer is a 12" for only $2 cheaper, or slices. That's way less pizza for not much dough savings, so there's little incentive to do that. I'd like to see them diversify their size (and price) offerings a bit more. I see they do sometimes have lunch specials, so that's cool. Or maybe if they tie in a good coupon program, that could help. I think Mark Twain's has a great example of good couponing; they mail out coupons for all kinds of events (bday, half-bday, anniversary, just because, etc.) on top of their reward point system, so I almost never have to pay full price. Plus the different sizes means I can still get my fix even when I'm tight on cash. Tbh that keeps me in the door. I only say this because I feel this place has a good pizza, but it would oftentimes be hard for me to justify it when other pizzas fit my needs and wallet better. Sometimes good pizza just needs some good marketing :)
