This is quintessential Jersey football pizza that I practically grew up on. When you think of traditional tri-state area pizza, this is exactly what it looks like, smells like and tastes like. Relatively thin and decently crispy, the dough is tasty with a firm undercarriage and virtually zero flop. The sauce has substantial tang and a fair amount of kick, not too fancy but plenty of flavor despite not being particularly sweet. Even though the cheese looks somewhat generic, it’s incredibly creamy and delicious, with a melty lava-like texture that goes down smoothly. This is a true “pizza’s pizza.” Not much to improve upon aside from a little excess grease and maybe a little more time in the oven could produce a crispier pie that might push the score into the 8s; but this is very good pizza as is. You’d be hard pressed to find a more reliable pie in the area, edging out Uncle Louie’s Pizza down the road ever so slightly. While it’s not quite a travel-worthy pie, it’s a really solid pizza that will not disappoint.
