The Plum Tomato, Salem, CT

This place is located on the ride to my parents house in Connecticut. Whatever I come down from Vermont I drive past it. Whenever I leave Connecticut to go to Vermont, I drive past it. Every time I drive past it I grab a slice. The slices are great. Today I got a full on cheese pie. I asked them to cook it a little well done because I’ve seen a few pies come out of here but lately everything has been spot on. This cheese was spectacular. Great crunch. Quality ingredients and the kitchen crew loves making pizza!

Large, white, chicken, broccoli, and caramelized onions pizza. Their pizza is typically a bit dry and crust is nothing to write home about... BUT it is consistently well cooked, flavorful, and quality.

Solid slice on the way home. Reheated in their oven right before the review. Sweeter sauce, good crunch in the crust. Standard to-go slice. Great place!

They robbed me, but at least the pizza is delicious!

I came in and ordered a regular large cheese pie...zero expectations. The young guys behind the counter were hospitable and patient while taking my order. The pie came out about 14 minutes later. They make the pie in a brick oven and as a result, the first bite was pure ecstasy. You can tell that my Pizza Chef enjoys his job as it comes out in the pizza. The sauce was a rustic tomato with a bit of a tart taste and the cheese melted perfect, with a perfect light salt after taste. Very little flop with the pizza and is cooked perfect under it. 8.6 and it’s hard to take just ‘one bite’; I’ll be back again soon!

One bite on bite only. Sauce is sweet.

Yummy dough, great sauce, and great cheese. $17.01 for a larger mozzarella pie. So good
