You don’t hear much about great pizza in Cape May or South Jersey in general; but this thick, heavy, doughy & filling Jersey Shore football pizza is actually quite solid. Better than average boardwalk pies as far as taste goes but the texture is seemingly on par with most pizza in the area. Somewhat soft & thick, the dough is rather heavy with a pleasantly surprising firmish undercarriage along with minimal flop near the tip of each slice. Possessing a modest amount of crisp, the crust is shockingly crunchy despite the absence of visible char. With above-average taste & reasonably crisped texture, the dough was actually much better than I expected. Creamy-ish & mostly melty, the cheese is a standard shredded mozzarella blend, stringy in some areas with a heavier grease flow than preferred on some slices, but mostly manageable oil leakage on others. The presence of grease doesn’t interfere too badly with the taste of the cheese or flavor of the sauce. Thankfully, the excess oil is not overly salty, which is often the case. Balanced fairly well with the cheese & dough, the sauce is slightly sweet, a tad tangy with very nice pizza flavor & just enough volume to make an impact. A little light on seasoning but there’s an adequate amount to give the taste of this pie some distinction. Overall, this is a really well-rounded pizza; certainly better than I expected, solid, tasty & filling Jersey Shore football pizza & one of the better spots in Cape May.
