Pizza Review
Before I leave this review I need to ask ... Orillia, is pizza dead in this town? Out of the 3 places I checked today, only Tops remained in business. Both Grillers and Pizza Democracy are both no longer open. I thought Grillers was a local staple but I’m not too shocked about Pizza Democracy to be honest. What kind of name for a pizza place is that? Anyways.. Tops is alright. I went in this afternoon to grab a slice of the golden standard and was pretty let down to be honest. It’s definitely football pizza but it has too much grease going on and not enough taste. The flop was actually pretty wild. I felt like a novice cruise line waiter holding a wide tray when I first tackled this slice. The heavy flop and the grease make for a bit of a mess. Not necessarily my jam but it’s pizza so it is what it is. Overall a pretty average $3.50 slice. It gets the job done but doesn’t stand out much. That alone makes me want to like this slice more than I do because that description is just way too relatable. The crunch saved this pizza from a gruesome rating. The pie was good, just lacked an attention getting taste you know? 5.9, one bite blah blah the rules.
