Rating the plain. The cheese and the undercarriage are pretty good with this slice, the sauce was lacking for me. The margarita was like a solid 8.5 🍕

Self-proclaimed “King of Pizza: with that special Brooklyn touch,” this joint was established in 1967 and has been family-owned since 1980. This is a traditional circular football style pizza; thickish & doughy with a fairly firm undercarriage, minimal flop, super soft and fluffy dough, bordering on undercooked. The crust is also mega soft with zero crunch, completely void of crisp. Despite the absence of crispness, the pillow soft dough is moderately tasty. The cheese is rather standard but melty and creamy with very good flavor…a pretty typical football pizza cheese blend. The sauce is also a bit basic but effective enough to provide quality flavor to the pie. Just slightly above average, the sauce could use more volume and spice to snazz up the pizza. Overall, this is solid “Anytown, USA” pizza pie; a reliable, neighborhood, Friday night pie you could set your watch to, with dependable ingredients. Not a travel-worthy pizza but very filling and satisfying. Some crisping might help raise the rating; but this softer pie is fine as is, with some clear room for improvement.

They do a killer plain pie, but in my eyes the best thing Turiellos makes is this, the grandma pie... this piece of art has it all... the cheese is perfect... the crust, risen a little bit so it’s a fluffier pie, the tomatoes, garlic and basil all over this work of are make it my favorite hometown pie

The crumb is dense and tough, creating a cardboard-like texture that is not pleasant in the mouth. The flavor of the crust isn’t much better - a pretty alkaline aftertaste. Cheese was greasy and too chewy and did not taste fresh. The sauce contributed more to a “gum-line” than it did to the flavor. I didn’t try the gelato, but it must be pretty good cause these slices can’t be keeping this place in business amongst so many better food options in Nyack.

Solid slice, good taste, not much grease, no NY flop. The crust is a bit doughy but I like it. Could use a bit more sauce.

Cheesy, oily, no flop. Bready but well cooked. Sauce had no tang literally the cheese is the main attraction. Would get again, it’s good pizza.

Only judged the plain slice. Great football pizza and is another Rockland County classic.
