Great slice, crust is amazing sauce has a great flavor. One of the best grandma slices in the city!

Sicilian slice is worth a bucket list trip.

This is a long-awaited pizza review, that I was saving for my 400th review on this one bite pizza app. Unfortunately, I haven't made it yet to 400 yet and im here in NY. I am closer to 350, but I am kind of glad of that because they fell a little short of my high standards for Umberto of Long Island Pizza. 1. My 100 review was in Deerfield Beach Umbertos, my 200th was in Dunedin FL Umbertos and my 300 was in Ft. Lauderdale Umbertos. 2. I have sent tons of people to the various Umbertos knowing they are one of the biggest players in the elite club of making pizza. 3. Today, I was slightly disappointed coming to the original location. I had such high hopes. The dough thickness and texture was super amazing. The only issue was the cheese. It had some kind of cheese blend ( maybe parmesan?) that through it off from being traditional NY pizza. The other Umbertos did not taste like this. 4. I gave all 3 of the other Umbertos a score in the high 8's, this I have to keep them at a 7.9!

I question the high reviews. This was a disappointing pie. Bland, cardboard like crust. It was not well done as requested. 7.2 is generous.

This is a tricky review because I’ve been here more times then I can count and I know you come here for the Sicilian… and/or the Grandma.. the sauce is so good, the regular is good but not AS good. There stuffed, white anc buffalo chicken all really good… over 8’s, all of em. One of the best Sicilian you will ever eat… but regular.. good sauce, little sag at the tip of the slice that gradually gets crunchier as you bite… nice charrrrrrr… but 7.9 on the regular. Still, very good.. ay oh.

I had to go back to refine my review (originally an 8.5) I know people always rave about the Sicilian at Umberto’s and it’s good. A solid 8.0, but the grandma slice…crisp crust, flavorful sauce, great balance of cheese…maybe THE best Grandma slice in the pizza game!!

The very best of Long Island.

Great to be back on LI! Umberto’s is top notch. Great pizza, great guys. Vinnie even game some tips for my Ooni pizza oven! This rating is for the regular slice - doesn’t get much better than this. Sauce is great, crust firm and moderately crunchy, but it’s not too hard. The Sicilian might be better! Just great!

Tried three pies all were delicious. Grandma of course is what they are known for and has to be the best grandma I’ve ever tasted. Note, the place is two restaurants in one. There is a fancy side that does not serve pizza for some weird reason.

Finally my boyfriend and I got to try one of the most popular pizza places on Long Island! We tried the plain slices, I gotta say it’s the BEST pizza I ever tasted!!! Especially since it’s the best pizza on Long Island! The grandma slice is just as good. Grandma Slice: 9.0 Michael’s rating: 10! Grandma Slice: 9.8

From the One Bite Fest, reviewing all this in retrospect is harder. I’ll be honest and say the details of this one wasn’t memorable besides that they offered a round and grandma. But I remembered they’re more known for their grandma. I feel like I remember the crust was more like a thinner pillowy Sicilian than one with a high edge crust. I do like that better as it’s something different. Can’t remember much else about the slices though.
