Uncle Milty's Pizza Palace

Got way out of the city for this one. Was out at Lake Holiday in Somanauk for a weekend and had to get some local pizza. Went to Rambo’s bar and it was everything you’d imagine. The regulars had their unofficial assigned seats and everyone know everyone. Just like Cheers. It was awesome. Connect to Rambo’s is Uncle Milty’s which serves Rambo’s guest. I thought egh why not. Holy shit was it good. You can tell it’s a local favorite as I saw at least 30 pizzas come out for delivery/takeout over the the hour I spent sipping on Busch Latte bottles for $2. Needless to say this is probably one of my favorite tavern style pizzas I’ve had. To clarify, tavern style is by no means greasy floppy football pizza, but not fancy wood fired pizza. Crispy bottom. Ample toppings. Savory sauce. Came out piping hot and paired perfectly with my beer. Definitely a gem found out in the boonies if you’re ever out that way. Grab some cheap beers and a damn good pizza.
