Uncle Sam's Pizza

When I walked in I quickly realized this was the old spot for Rizzo’s East Village location. I really liked this margherita slice. It was a heavy slice that did have a hard time holding but everything on the slice was excellent. Fresh cheese, nice tangy sauce which they didn’t skimp on, and a soft crunch. I also had the spicy pepperoni which they hyped up on the door as “world famous”. It was a big punch of flavor and was a solid slice but I liked the margherita a lot more. I feel like the spicy pepperoni’s are not as unique as they used to be.

I gotta say I’m quite impressed the crust is pretty airy for a square good crisp underneath yet still pillowy. Great rich sauce has a ton of flavor combined with the roni cups not in the massive quantity other places use makes for a pretty proportionate slice with mozz underneath that has nice stretch and flavor. While not killer spicy it has great kick and overall is a great slice that doesn’t disappoint and is a must try in the area!

We got a New York slice, folks! New York flop on this one. Huge amount of tang in the sauce is good but overpowers a little. Great texture & pull on the cheese. Nothing exceptional, but it’s appropriately solid. 🎤

The Square was very inviting in its look, a nice deep red sauce with crispy pepperoni and a thin crust. The underside was done well, nice crispness and a really good bite/chew on the dough. The sauce had a nice balance of sweetness with a little heat, that really gave it a good combination with the crispy pepperoni. The crust was thin but had a really good crunch through. The fresh mozzarella was soft and flavorful although I would have liked just a little bit more. All in all, this was an excellent square.

Love a good pepperoni Sicilian corner slice. This was very good. A little greasy as expected and very garlicky but excellent

The crunch on the crust is very nice and is soft in the middle. Plus the pepperoni is to die for. Very good slice. A little steep on the price at $5

Uncle Sam’s is the new kid on the block that’s coming to play. Try the vodka slice and the grandma. Doesn’t disappoint.
