Secret video of Sally’s Apizza New Haven. This is just up street from where Sally’s Fairfield is located. But I don’t wanna record over my own score of the Stamford location. One Bite needs to update its app more often. Check out that review. Quick review: Sally’s mootz is better than Pepe’s. It’s better than many places, I’ll say that. Though Pepe’s Margherita and Tomato Pie are better though as far as plains. You’ll like Sally’s for the well done crispiness, which is world class. But to me, that’s just one dimension of what makes a good crust. It’s also a saucey plain, which a chunky tomato sauce, which pairs well and the pie needs. The more I eat (and now make) pizza, the more I noticed I like well fermented crust and a lot of flavor. So I gotta lower this score down, if I’m being honest. I also had Pepe’s New Haven to compare earlier and I need to go back to try Modern, who I suspect I’ll like their mootz the best. 8.1 for me. Also I don’t even need to eat Pepe’s clam pie to know there’s and Zuppardi’s clam pie have to be better. That pie was a 7.1 for me.
