Pizza Review
There’s a bunch of bogus perfect 10s on here inflating the overall rating, which is a shame, cause this is pretty good pizza that doesn’t need any fugazy shenanigans to bolster their score. Hard to tell just by looking at it, but this pie was crispy and crunchy throughout the entire dough and crust. Firm & thinnish dough with a kind of deep fried texture, it’s incredibly tasty and superbly crunchy, no flop whatsoever. The ingredients continue to be full of surprises, starting with the unique sauce. Filled with chunky tomatoes, it’s heartier than standard pizza sauce, terrific spice & kick, bursting with flavor, similar to the kind of sauce you would dip fried calamari in, a little fancier than most pizza sauces. Continuing with the unexpected, the cheese has a slightly funky flavor, like it’s a blend of provolone and pecorino romana with some shredded mozzarella for substance, melted well with a lava-like flow, but just a weird tinge in taste. Overall, all of these interesting flavors and textures are a lot to process. While the crispness carries the pie, the sauce is distinctly delicious, but I’m not in love with the flavor of the cheese. That’s really the only aspect keeping this pizza out of the 8s; but I think it’s worth trying and you can judge the somewhat polarizing flavors for yourself. All things considered, this is still very good pizza.
