Second stop Ventura’s Pizza.. Now we have something going on here that gets me excited!! Completely different walk through the door experience.. Really cool woman named Gina.. Proudly explaining her south Philly roots!! Family has been in restaurant business there since 1957.. I picked this spot today because I noticed some honest reviews on the Pizza District page.. I look up pizza spots other local Guys & Gals leave reviews for and found a picture of Ventura’s Slice.. the picture reminded me of the way Denino’s Pizza back home makes their pies.. so got excited to try.. not far from pizza district came here.. Happy I did!! Waiting for two pies to go.. while I write this review.. real pleasure.. Meatballs 9.1 fucking great!! And that’s the Duchess score.. which I believe she’s dead balls accurate on.. Now The Pizza.. what a unique slice!!! The crust is a hybrid between Neapolitan and traditional!!! Yes let me say that again.. Hybrid between the two types of pizza on the dough.. perfect balance!! Crust gets 8.9, sauce 9.1, three blended cheese 9.0, sauce to cheese ratio 8.9 & decent flop 7.8.. I add those together divide by 5 and I get a score of 8.7.. Extra .1 for the free long hot peppers and hospitality!! 8.8 final score

The new name is la Rossa pizzeria…and the food here is amazing! Comes out perfect pizza every time. Best pizza around

Names been changed to la rossa pizzeria.. wood fired oven…super thin not floppy had some char on the crust and even a few bubbles solid pizza straight out of the oven…sauce is not overbearing no heavy parm taste..

They forgot to put sauce on my pizza so they heated up some and dumped it on at the end. I didn't have time to argue or wait for a new one so I reviewed the pizza they gave me. It sucked.

Pizza overall good, it was on the doughy side but not much flop, then again I got a small so it may be floppy if you get a large. The pizza definitely doesn’t reflect the 4.8 star rating on google but customer service was definitely 5 stars. Won’t be disappointed but probably won’t leave too impressed either.

Way to floppy .. no crisp or snap whatsoever .. HUGE crust very doughy and had a strange taste... The shape was more like a distorted oval and not even close to being round. Putting all that aside it had a nice flavor and could of been a high 7 or low 8

Not your typical south florida slice... very good.. next time I will order it well done (wasnt crispy enough on the bottom) and it will probably push the score well into the 8’s.. side note, the garlic powder they have has an great tang to it.

Pizza is very very good. I ordered delivery dudes so it wasn’t piping hot. I think a more accurate score could be determined by eating at the restaurant. The regular cheese pizza reminds me of the sauceless cheese sticks sold at Papa Johns (of which I am a huge huge fan). I’m assuming (hoping) the ingredients are of much higher quality. Price is very reasonable $14 for a nice sized pie.
