Last time I had Verona was 10 years ago when their Merrillville location was open. I remember liking it, so I was pumped to try it again at their Highland spot. It’s solid. The yelp reviews are mostly people complaining about service, but the pizza itself is top notch. The crust is cracker flaky and the dough is thin, but not crispy. I like the robust flavor and balance. The sauce is noticeably savory and tangy combined with the saltiness of the meats and cheese. It’s not too filling, but the price is definitely a better value. This pizza goes with a beer. I like supporting little spots like this, so give them a shot.
