Vince's Pizzeria

Our waitress said this is not a Philly pie, but a Vince’s homemade pie. Pizza came out smoking hot. The sauce is amazing and lots of it. Big cheese pull on the plain half. Pepperoni half was just a little greasy. Both doughy and crunchy at the same time. We drove 20 minutes from downtown and it was worth the drive up north! Cash only.

Nostalgia. My favorite pizza.

Excellent flavor! Cooked to perfection! Must stop place if you find yourself in the city!

Fire, got the dust on the crust

Hmmm like Dave says strange its got a weird crust not bad just different. Undercarriage doesn’t look special but nice crisp. The visual of the pie thought was going to be special but the sauce lacked flavor wasnt sweet or garlic or oregano. Had nothing to distinguish. Granted a delicious pizza 🍕 but doesnt hit the 8’s. The sauseeeg was crumbles and surprised at the peppercini choice instead ilif hot cherry peppers 🌶️. That as my man slice says almost ruined the pizza 5.8 . Plain was the answer.

Stevie Slice up in the Northeast to try and understand the confusion Dave felt about Vince’s. I get it . Interesting pie. We started with the plain. It was well cooked on the bottom with even a little char, but I can’t call it crispy. It has some crisp and then a bite . The texture was interesting . I liked the look of the pie and was pretty psyched when it came out steaming hot. The first bite was good and I almost thought it was an 8, but then a few more bites and it just was not quite that good. The sauce is a little bland. The cheese is subtle, the crust is good , but not the highest level. But overall is still a very well constructed pie and I could have easily eaten 4 slices . As for the sausage and peppers half. Totally disappointing. The wrong sausage and the wrong peppers. More like what you would see on a frozen pizza. That one gets a 4.9. The place smelled like an old fashioned pizza joint and the pizza makers were pretty grumpy which was funny .

Cash only- if this isn’t world class I’m going to destroy this. Eye test-killer, A plus. Crust - a bit undercooked. Taste nothing special. Cheese- gentle. Not a ton of taste, it’s subtle. I like it. Good quality. Sauce- not a ton of ingredients. Basically tomato, no meaningful basil or oregano. That being said, it’s a nice taste. Good, but not spectacular. Ratio- almost perfect. Nice crunch on dough. Above average. Execution- good. Just a hair undercooked. Overall impression- very good. Very unusual. Worth travel. Definitely unique. Not the best in Philly but worth a try. Very subtle but it comes together beautifully. Wilt Chamberlain said, “I’ve been involved in track and field, volleyball and basketball. What I’m most proud of is my stint with the Globetrotters. They don’t just entertain, they make a difference for kids and the community.” This place is not the best of all-time, but it’s on the level of Mo Cheeks. Memorable.

Very good crust and cheese was good. No flop at all. The sauce wasn’t my favorite, though.

Easily best pizza north of Beddia in Philly. Except for Maple Glen, which is Gods Country. Unreal crisp, perfectly executed. Cheese delicious topped with luscious tomato sauce as a tomato pie reference. Rushfanpizzadude would give it his usual 6.7. Yankees fans only allowed to eat here.

This is a weird one for me. The pie is good. Thin crust, the sauce wins the pizza. The atmosphere was add. All tables had chairs stacked on top and a family came in and it was an odd conversation whether they could take the chairs down and eat in. Big fan of the pizza but the overall experience wasn’t great. This score is taste only, if you like pizza grab this for takeout.

First impression was it was greasy and cheese not evenly spread. Not much flop. Really crisp bottom and crust. Cheese and sauce had pretty good taste. Overall I would definitely return. Pretty good pizza.

I mean….how can a score be less then a 10?? I know I know…..it’s a rookie score but this place gives so much memories…..god damn the sauce….a 10/10

Steak & Hot Peppers Great flavor! Good crunch, but the toppings do make it a bit floppy.

Ah, the all-too-rare occasion when a non-New Jersey pizza gets into the 9s. What can I say? Vince’s gets it. Sauce up front—sweet and rich. It’s a little doughier than Trenton tomato pie, yet once you get to the crust, it’s super thin and crispy. Trust a Trentonian: this is the best pizza you’re going to get in Philly. Just superb.
