Birthday score for Sandy’s 63rd. Stopped off on the way to South Bend and this place is it. Perfect old school dive, Chicago tavern institution. Pizza was thin crispy light with great flavor and sauce / cheese setup. Nearly ate the whole thing while washing it down with an Old Style!!

First time trying tavern style in Chicago! Great pizza!

Great bar setting. Just a classic pizza tavern straight from the good old days. The pizza itself is very good, but the crust is a disappointment. No flavor whatsoever, but good crisp. Better crust and this is an easy 8.

Pizza was half way decent but nothing special. The best part is that it was an old school dive bar in a not great looking neighborhood and that it had pitchers for $10.75. Of all the major styles of pizza, tavern is probably the most bland and my least favorite.

There is some glitch that is preventing uploads of video reviews to this app. Have to post a screenshot. Did not look at the app first. Haters can hate all they want, but this is what Tavern style pizza is supposed to be. Original recipe excellent ingredients and awesome atmosphere.

Good stuff

Solid crunch, great undercarriage, delicious sausage. Just overall the king of tavern style. Hands down.

Best thin crust I’ve ever had

The sauce is the star but just wait, then comes that crunchy crust. Amazing under carriage and perfect topping to sauce ratio. Truly a Chicago legend.

Quite possibly the most Chicago bar I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere was a legit 10/10… everyone and I mean everyone was drinking an Old Style on draft in this 105 year old bar. As for the pizza… it was really really good - sauce had a nice tang and the cheese was fresh. The crust was ok… should’ve asked for it well done as it was a little chewy. This is considered the “real” Chicago style pizza, but I honestly can’t tell the difference between this and Dayton or Columbus style. This pizza should be in mid to high 7’s but the atmosphere of the bar bumps it into the 8’s!

Dropped off some folks at Midway, had to stop here. 8.2 baby.

Incredible crust perfectly charred crispy while not being crackery with great flavor. Fresh mozz and tomatoes and homemade sausage. Really a work of art great South Italian flavor up there with the great pizzas of New Haven, NYC and Napoli
