VuK

This high rise building now occupies the space where VUK once resided. The pizza was okay, but not exactly a New York pie. Like all the pizzerias in the DC area that claim to be authentically NY, they fell short. They're gone, and will probably be forgotten. The owner also owns a chain of organic grocery stores in the area. I guess he got the VUK out of the pizza business.

Wanted to like it, and had high hopes on first sight. Soupy center, crust was dry and flavorless, super salty. Good undercarriage with a little flop, sauce wasn't bad, most sparse up until near the crust. Don't know if this was indictive of their last weekend open, but I'll give it another shot when they find a new location.

Large slice, good vibes in there. Hot out of the oven, nice char on the crust. Atmosphere maybe added a bit to the score, but the pizza was still good. Would recommend, especially if you’re just grabbing a slice and playing some games.

Cheese slice

The slice didn't last long. No flop, good crisp, little greasy but I can live with it, cheap, big slice. Not legendary but one of the best in the area
