Born out of the pandemic in 2021, this literal hole-in-the-wall takeout-only pizza spot looks like an abandoned building in BK. Closed on Mon & Tues, open after 5pm Wed-Sun & lunch hours from noon to 3 on Sat & Sun, this joint doesn’t have phone, so all orders must be placed online for pickup during a designated time slot. Anything but basic, this is their “Cheese Pizza,” which is a well-dressed, fancier eye-pleasing pie with an aesthetically astounding appearance & sensational saliva-inducing smell. Known for their signature naturally leavened dough, which is fairly thin & brilliantly crispy, the undercarriage is terrifically charred & firm, with virtually no flop. This sourdough style also produces an outrageously crunchy crust, while the dough maintains a dynamic combination of texture & taste, providing an excellent base for the other components. The cheese is a rather pungent blend of mozzarella & aged provolone topped off with a bit of pecorino romano, creating a sharp & poignant flavor. Magnificently melted, the cheese melds into a delectably creamy consistency with phenomenal savoriness & sneaky spice from the additional chili flakes atop, supplying a surprisingly superb kick & punch, aiding the intoxicating flavors of the sauce as well. Not overly sweet, the sauce blend is rich & somewhat hearty with oodles of zest, zip & zing from the sublime spices & seasoning, exploding with intense taste & flavors that make this pie dance. Finished with fresh basil, garlic, Sicilian oregano & the aforementioned chili flakes, all of the flavors are tied together in beautiful synchronization. Using top quality ingredients all-around, culminating in a feast of the senses, this pizza looks as good as it tastes & tastes as good as it looks. This is truly a super sleeper pie, master-crafted artisan pizza that’s extremely tasty & texturally satisfying. Despite takeout only, this is definitely travel-worthy if you’re in the tri-state area, especially within NYC. There is so much thought, care & effort that goes into making this pie; truly a hidden gem & one of the best kept secrets in Brooklyn.
