Wizard of Za

It’s like eating lasagna, not pizza. Yes, i understand it’s Sicilian style. Even then, it tastes like Pizza Hut. Drench it in mikes hot honey for good flavor.

Excellent pizza. Crust is the best part, well seasoned and crisp.

I wanted this to be a great pizza but it was just above average. I think it needed about five more minutes in the oven. I’ll probably try again and ask for well done.

A lot of hype. I expected this to be a lot better. Not much crunch, and thinner as expected. Pepperoni is the winner.

Love the right blend of heat and honey drizzle. I’m definitely a fan of the crust. The Wizard has a true passion for pizza and that stands out with his quality.

Toppings were high quality. Sauce was tangy and delicious. Crust was airy yet crunchy. I’m a sucker for Detroit-esk style pies!

Mainly bread. Toppings were okay. Very greasy. Not worth $25 or the wait.

Soft chewy texture and a crispy bottom. Ingredients are clearly fresh and handmade and it’s extremely balanced. 9 because there’s genuinely nothing like it in Columbus let alone Ohio. Cheers Wizard

So tried the Wizard tonight. After several opportunities to order, I ended up declining all of them because I didn’t want to drive there to pick it up, I hated their business model and ordering process, heard it really just wasn’t that good and felt it was too expensive on top of it. With only a 3 day wait I decided to go ahead and order it. I figured if I was going to bash them, I should do so justifiably. I had zero expectations. Turns out, it’s not so bad. Definitely better than I expected, but in no way is it a $25 pizza. However, I probably won’t ever get it again until I can just order it on door dash and it shows up within an hour. There are plenty of better options out there you can get whenever you want. The hype is just that; hype. I will say they were super nice people.

This pop up reservation only experience was so interesting I had to try it. Bit of a weird business model but what you get is absolute quality. Very artisan feel to it. Highly recommend.
