🤫BEST KEPT SECRET ALERT🤫 I can’t believe this is the first review for this joint, which is essentially the bar for the E. Gaynor Brennan Golf Course, which is the Stamford Municipal Golf Course. This is STELLAR bar pie that I’ve never heard anyone talk about. The texture, flavor, sauce, cheese, dough, crunch & crisp all come together in perfect harmony, forming one outstanding pizza. The dough is razor thin and light, a little bit bigger than personal size, definitely shareable but easy to polish off yourself as well. The flop is minimal, mostly firmish, very dry undercarriage with no moisture buildup, terrifically textured and tasty dough. The thin crust is to die for: exquisitely crunchy & crispy, delightfully flavorful, accentuating the best aspects of the dough. The cheese isn’t tight like the average bar pie; it’s looser, melty and free-flowing, deliciously delectable. The sauce is surprisingly zippy and tangy, definitely has some bite; it’s a very “pizza flavored” sauce, which is just fantastic. Not to mention, the cheese-to-sauce ratio is nearly perfect; both meld swimmingly with the dough. The only real drawback to this pie is the excess grease, which is very manageable due to the smallish size of the pizza. When you draw it up, this is how you make a bar pie. The size, the execution, the texture & the taste are all in sync. I almost wish they made a larger version. If you’re a fan of exceptional bar pies, then this is travel-worthy for sure. This pie has been one of the biggest pleasant surprises along my journey and easily one of the best kept pizza secrets in Stamford, CT.
