Zuppardi's Apizza

Grew up around NH pizza but never went to Zuppardi's. Pepe's and Sally's are closer to where we lived, so I blame my parents. Wow, the Classic is a great pizza! Crust is crunchy on the outer half, but just the skin - the rest is chewy and delicious. Sauce is tangy and blends with the mozz, and contrasts the ingredients. Sausage is a little dense for the style of crust, but is so damned good I can deal with it. Old school pizzeria with plenty of seating and a carpark, plus plenty of street parking.

Incredible crust & undercarriage. Not greasy, no flop at all. A little heavy on cheese, a lot of flavor and dough is super soft but also crunchy. Everything tastes fresh. Score gets a bump for a conventional oven.

Since staying in the east haven. My uncle has been bring me to different pizza places and this is the best one out of all of them. Just my opinion

Original tomato pie….Elite elite elite

Amazing! No flop and great crisp. We tried three pies and they were all delicious. I think it is actually better than Sally’s.

I grew up on this stuff and it’s the one I judge all others by. Their sausage is THE best. Sometimes sausage and mushroom. Sometimes cherry peppers. Consistency in the cook varies occasionally but, never bad. Never been shy with toppings either. They’ve stayed true to brand for the 40+ years I’ve been eating here.

Great Pizza, almost no flop even with pepperoni. WAY better than Modern

Amazing sausage pizza or shall I say, apizza. Man what’s not to like?! Top notch, crispy dough, amazing sauce and cheese. Taste to die for. Way up there in New Haven lore. Get it with sausage.

Not usually a crust guy…this pizza made me a crust guy. Crust so good I would’ve been fine with them ripping off the cheese and sauce and telling me only crust tonight, bud. Only gripe was lack of taste with the sauce. Other than that, another Connecticut banger. Pizza runs through the East Coast.

One of the heavyweights from Connecticut. 160 mile drive to give it a try and didn’t disappoint. The picture is of the house special. Also ordered the clam pie which was terrific & a first for me. Staff is very accommodating & service was extremely quick. No problem going back again.

Overall great pie, with the fantastic crunchy crust as the star of this pizza show. More prominent sauce would be a plus. PS. The (unscorable) sausage is also terrific!

This was the best tasting pizza I’ve ever had. The only reason it doesn’t get a perfect score is because it was extremely floppy in the middle - you couldn’t pick up the slice and had to fold it upward just to eat it. But the flavor from the garlic and fresh clams was OUTSTANDING. Well worth the $50 price tag. Sausage pie was excellent as well. Muzz was pretty standard go to Modern for that instead.

Zuppardi’s in West Haven — family-owned since 1934 — so fantastic, so good that I want to kill somebody. When another pizzeria owner is in the booth next to you on a Monday night, you know this place has earned respect. 🍕 Pickles’ Pizza Rating: 8.7/10; Morgs went 8.9.

Superb crisp for not being Coal Fire, was really good

I feel this is my favourite pizza ever!! Come to west haven and see if I’m right!

It’s very decent Pizza all around, but I wouldn’t travel very very far to get it although it’s great Pizza

Good crust on Zuppardis but didn’t think flavor stood out too much from the sauce.
