Bartone's Apizza

Really good sauce to cheese ratio, sauce is amazing, crisp/crust is perfect. Right up there with Roseland in my humble opinion!

This place is way under the radar for being sandwiched in-between Roseland and Tipsy Tomato in Derby and not far from New Haven. Have been many times. The owner makes every pie that comes out of that oven and they care deeply about the community. The pizza is straight-up excellent. The Red Raider (their tomato pie) is about as get as it gets and some of the specialty pies, like the Stuffed Shrimp (pictured) and even the scary-sounding Cheeseburger pizza are really excellent. The stuffed breads are great, too, as are the salads. Fantastic spot!

This bacon pizza hits the spot 🍕🔥 Crispy crust, gooey cheese, and smoky bacon in every bite. Definitely a winner! I will be back!!

There is good and bad here. First the good. The pizzas look fantastic and they have a great char. Crunchy crust. The crust is definitely the star. Now, for the not so good. I really was disappointed with the sauce. It’s spicy not sweet or tangy. I would say bold with a bit of a kick. I’m not a big fan of spicy, so it didn’t impress me. I also ordered a white pizza and I ordered a meatball. The meatballs were on the doughy side. I wish I can give them a better score but I’m being honest that it’s definitely not for anyone who does not like spicy.
