Buffalo, although not really talked about, has its very own style of pizza, and i dig it. The few people i know from the Buffalo area, regard Bocce Club as the best pizza in the city. I used to work in Buffalo about 5 years ago, and back then, i remember this place being kind of a shithole, but they have since freshened up the place. Looks snazzy as fuck now. The pizza though, typical buffalo pizza, thick spongey heavy and no real crisp to speak of except where the sauce and cheese spill over the crust and carmelize to the rectangular sheet pan they cook these on. They must have 8 double deck ovens in the back that look like theyre 60 years old and have never been cleaned and i like that sometimes lol. I can taste that dirty old oven in every bite of their pizza. The sauce is great. It’s slightly sweet, super thick, and paste like, but in a good way. Cheese is tasty, im pretty sure they use a quality mozzarella. On a side note, this might be my wife’s favorite pizza.
