Pizza Review
Were it not for Kate and Al’s in Columbus, NJ (a 9.8 in my book), this would be the best square pie in the game. The sweet and tangy sauce is excellent—definitely the lead role of the ingredients. That being said, the cheese adds a nice saltiness to the experience. Dough-wise, we’re talking pillow-like fluffiness. Worth seeking out. The round pie, however, is a 6.5—very bland and too cheese-dominated; its sesame seed crust is an interesting novelty but nothing to write home about. UPDATE: Had leftovers of the square pie the next day and dare I say it was even better? I do. The dough was incredible—almost like Italian Easter bread. Not changing my original score out of integrity, but the next-day square pie could easily be an 8.9.
