Chicago Style Pizza

Very good

So this is not the deep dish. However, it is the thick crust style. Doughy yet a little light. Nice light crunchy crust. Tanging sauce to light cheese to pepperoni ratio is quit good. I recommend only two to three toppings. Don’t take away from the taste.

Really enjoyed this pizza! Not many Chicago styled pizza options up here north of the boarder but this place definitely ticks all the boxes. Sauce was had a very nice flavour, not too over powering but also not unnoticeable. Ingredients were decent quality, wasn’t blown away by the toppings (meatballs, mushroom, green peppers), and good quality cheese. Crust I was quite impressed with, held up well considering the amount of weight on top of it, and the outer edges had an airy/crumbly element which I thought complimented the pizza overall. I would definitely recommend this place to others, nice staff and a cute little restaurant. I gave it a rookie score of eight because I had a tough time deciphering between 7.9 or 8.1 and decided it deserved an eight based on the scarcity of Chicago Deep Dish here in Canada. Worth a trip!

Very impressed with this place all around. There is a very authentic Italian vibe as soon as you step through the door. Music and all. Great service,friendly staff. Food arrives within reasonable time and served hot . Really hard to give this place a bad score. I had no complaints . Great sauce,loaded with cheese and perfect balance on the crust, 👏🏻

Ok, one more pizza review for today. It was my birthday last week and Susan Hampson asked what I wanted for dinner. I said pizza. SO here we go, Chicago Style Pizza Shack on Upper Sherman. It's a Hamilton institution. People have been going here for eons for large portions or affordable, italian/canadian comfort food. We get the large meat pizza, I believe it was $32. Trust me one slice is all you need, this is a meal. The pie is deep dish and thick. The sauce is not on top, the ingredients are. It is covered in large chunks of sausage. The sauce is nothing special and the cheese is very gooey and abundant. It tastes good! I'm sure it's nowhere near the best pizza places in Chicago but it's a bit of a novelty here in The Hammer. The score - 7.1 I will get it again. It feels like a pizza rite of passage that needs to be revisited every few years. It's not one of the best in town but I love the restaurant and do recommend it if you're looking for no frills comfort food. get the garlic bread!

Not my typical go to but damn! Real good pie, great sauce, super cheesy, crust was a little stock but I’d eat this any day.

Place packed. Lined up out the door. Delicious deep dish.
